Get the right support from your suspension with quality Shock & Struts parts and Service Repair

Steering stability and handling are heavily reliant on the performance of your car, truck, suv or family mini-van’s suspension such as shocks and struts.  Routine maintenance, front end alignment service and inspections will keep your ride smooth and ensure that everything is working in top condition. The minor costs for these preventative measures will save you big dollars on larger, more expensive repairs later.

Your safety is also dependant on your suspension and all the working parts that are involved. Your stopping power as well as how fast you come to a stop when braking is affected by health of your vehicles suspension. That is why it falls under Alberta Transportation’s safety guidelines and will become a major safety issue when your suspension and vehicle front-end components; which include, shocks, struts, ball joints, tie-rods, control arms, and more; need repairs.

Since your front-end and suspensions is so important to your safely, we do not mess around with that. It takes a great deal of knowledge and understanding to be able to diagnose and fix each possible problem that can occur. But with our team of licenced mechanics that have been doing this for over 20 years. We know what needs to be addressed now, what can wait and help you prioritize your suspension repairs.

Remember, suspension and your vehicle’s front-end should be looked at every 80,000km depending on your driving habits and it’s not covered by your cars warranties. These are regular maintenance items that need to be looked at often to make sure everything is in working order and are not covered under manufacturer/ dealer warranties as it is considered regular wear and tear.

Typical suspension items that require regular maintenance and repair include:

▪    Wheel Alignment
▪    Rear Suspension
▪    Struts Replacement
▪    Replace Coil Springs
▪    Shocks Replacement
▪    Replace Air Springs
▪    Leaf Repair
▪    Two and/or Four Wheel Alignment
▪    Front End Suspension

Other Front-end components that are considered safety issues and play a roll in keeping your vehicle safely on the road are:

  • Ball Joints
  • Inner and Outer Tie-rod ends
  • Upper and Lower Control arms
  • Rack and Pinion
  • Sway Bars, and Sway Bar Links

All these components including shocks and struts are what connect your car’s tires to the road. That is why they are also responsible for your car’s handling and ride, and as mentioned your stopping power, which is why you don’t want to take for granted they are  doing their job. Even though they seem to wear out slowly they do have a life span and as already mentioned they are a component that will not be covered under your new vehicle’s warranty.

Your shocks and struts in addition to the all the parts mentioned above are also responsible for the life of your tires. If they are not aligned properly or working as they should they will also cause your tires to wear unevenly or faster than normal reducing the life of your tires. As a result, you will end up having to spend the money replacing your tires prematurely. No one wants to spend more on their vehicle than necessary, but keeping your suspension in good working order will SAVE you money in the long run. So don’t neglect the work that may be needed.

This is why no matter what you come in for, here at Heritage Autopro, we always do a thorough inspection of these components so you can be sure that everything is in good working order. Taking care of issues when they first start is key to saving you money and keeping you safe, which is why we don’t recommend putting off this kind of work.

If you feel like something is out of whack, your steering isn’t responding the way it should or your hearing funny clunks and noises as you go over bumps. That can be just a warning sign that there is something going on with your suspension. Most often there are issues you don’t know about and by the time you notice something doesn’t feel right, you are already at risk of having a costly repair. Heritage Autopro we inspect before its an issue and can diagnose to see what’s really going on if things are getting a little shaky or unstable.

If you are noticing a difference in your cars handling, we advise you to have it looked at right away. That is the best way to save money.
